Experience & Practice:
Currently, the law practice is devoted to full time litigation, in the representation of injured plaintiffs in significant personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and nursing home neglect/abuse cases.
The primary focus had formerly been in the representation of over fifty hospitals and doctors, nurses and health care professionals in the defense of medical malpractice cases or regulatory complaints against health care providers.
The litigation experience encompassed the defense of approximately one thousand medical malpractice cases for health care professionals throughout the State of Florida, in state and federal courts, including participation as lead counsel in well over one hundred trials.
Although litigation is the primary focus of the practice, there have been numerous appeals handled on a regular basis. This experience includes a continuing representation of the client from trial through appeal. These appeals have been conducted in each of Florida's five District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court and the Federal, Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. This includes the research, preparation of briefs and presentation of oral argument in all of these appellate tribunals.
The litigation experience also included the defense of health care professionals from administrative complaints brought by that professional's regulatory board for allegations of professional misconduct. ( Physicians, nurses, technicians and other allied health care personnel).
General Hospital Counsel:
The area of practice and experience has previously included general legal counsel to approximately fifty Florida hospitals throughout the entire period of practice. It included general legal counsel on matters such as health care law, hospital protocols and procedures, professional liability, legal aspects of medical ethics, hospital-physician-patient relationships, insurance matters and other general hospital liability issues.
